~ WHITE COTTON BLEND ~

This white cotton paper is some of the first I made, untinted and fresh in all its clean white glory. It's made from a blend of cotton and cellulose, internally sized so it can be used with pencil, ink and paint. Read more about the behaviour of this paper below.

Texture: mid grain tooth, slightly smoother on one side
Edge: lovely deckled edge, the classic for handmade paper
Additives: Internal size (AKD to adjust absorbancy)

~ media and behaviour ~
Pencil: good, takes softer graphite pencils nicely
Coloured pencil: nice, fibres hold coloured pencil well
Pen: pen gives nice clean lines, little to no feathering
Watercolour: applies well, no feathering
Acrylic marker: goes down smoothly, no feathering
Other notes: this paper takes wet media well, but will pill and buckle with too much wet layering applications. The A6 is a lighter weight than the A5, so will take less wet media before buckling

~ notes on handmade paper weight ~
Handmade paper is exactly what it sounds like: completely handmade. I make my handmade paper myself, using a mould and deckle to pull individual sheets from a big plastic box full of water and pulp. As such, paper weight will vary between batches and within a batch! I do my best to keep things consistent but I'm only human, and it's part of the beauty of handmade that it's not completely uniform.
If you want a specific type of paper in a specific weight, please do get in touch and I'm sure I can pull a custom batch for you. :) My paper, like my paints for the most part, are made to order, so adjustments can be made with enough notice.

~ shipping details ~
I ship my paper within biodegradable cello bags, inside of board back envelopes to keep them flat during delivery. Larger orders may be sent in shallow boxes. Larger papers may be sent rolled in tubes. All packaging is able to be recycled or composted.
